CHURCH CAMP @ SVBC

Everyone! At SVBC, we celebrate how God has brought generations and cultures together as a local church family in Christ. Families know and love one another by spending time together. Church Camp is a chance to do just that, so join in for as much as you can!

You’re certainly welcome & encouraged to join in the whole weekend, but no—come as you are able. We would much rather have you for parts than for you miss out entirely.

First, talk it up with others at SVBC and be sure to invite them to join in!

Also, we need help Fri at the beach (grillers, welcome crew, food service), help running Sat’s activities (2-4pm), & on Sun AM for the brunch + outdoor worship service (cooking & setup).

Let Pastor Ben, Juliet, or Jen know if you’d like to serve!

No cost to participate. We want to minimize any possible barrier to join in!

We will have a donation box out on Sunday at brunch for anyone who wants to give. All of it will help offset costs of food and activities that we do.

You can arrive anytime after 3:45pm. Tell the staff you are here with the Skokie Valley Trellis Rental.

Programming runs from 5-8:30pm.

We must all be packed up and have left before 10pm.

Glencoe has updated their parking rules near the beach. See here for full details.

If you can walk 4 blocks, the easiest parking is the Glencoe Metra lots—free after 10 AM. Yellow & dark yellow on this map here.

Street parking is available but limited right around Lakefront Park (above the beach) from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Additional designated parallel parking spaces are striped to clearly indicate where parking is permitted on Longwood Avenue, Hazel Avenue, and Beach Road. See green lines on map here.

With our Trellis rental, we have access for the whole night to their golf cart to help people come down the steep hill after parking. We will have a welcome team to walkie down as it is needed from 3:45-5:30pm.

Once down at the beach, we can request rides back up whenever needed at the beach house desk (next to the Trellis).

Bathrooms are also open for our group for the whole evening.

This 2-hour chunk will include: a crafts room, pickleball, basketball, a pre-k bounce house, backyard games, Mario Kart tournament, and an outreach opportunity.

The church backyard is open to any families or individuals that would like to sleep over Saturday evening. Please bring a tent and all needed supplies. No one under 18 yrs can stay without a parent/guardian, and all people must stay outside in the backyard.

Tents can be set up anytime after 5pm and will be out in the back half of the yard so we have space for service on Sunday morning.

No, there are not. As fun as they are, we decided to focus on what matters most—our time together in fellowship and worship.
